LAS MIL Y UNA NOCHES

Aquí os dejo un pequeño trabajo que ha elaborado vuestro compañero ALBERTO MARTÍNEZ REQUENA de 2º E.S.O. (sección europea) donde os hace una síntesis del fabuloso  "LAS MIL Y UNA NOCHES" (ألف ليلة وليلة Alf layla wa-layla, en árabe) que es una recopilación de cuentos árabes del Oriente Medio Medieval (siglo XI al XIV). 

Os animo a que lo leáis, muchas de sus historias ya las conocéis al haber sido popularizadas por Walt Disney ("Ali Baba", "Aladino"...)

UNA LEYENDA DE CARLOMAGNO / CHARLEMAGNE STORY

 ÍTALO CALVINO   (Escritor italiano/Italian journalist and writer)

El emperador Carlomagno se enamoró, siendo ya viejo, de una muchacha alemana. Los nobles de la corte estaban muy preocupados porque el soberano, poseído de ardor amoroso y olvidado de la dignidad real, descuidaba los asuntos del Imperio. Cuando la muchacha murió repentinamente, los dignatarios respiraron aliviados, pero por poco tiempo, porque el amor de Carlomagno no había muerto con ella. El Emperador, que había hecho llevar a su aposento el cadáver embalsamado, no quería separarse de él. El arzobispo Turpín, asustado de esta macabra pasión, sospechó un encantamiento y quiso examinar el cadáver. Escondido debajo de la lengua muerta encontró un anillo con una piedra preciosa. No bien el anillo estuvo en manos de Turpín, Carlomagno se apresuró a dar sepultura al cadáver y volcó su amor en la persona del arzobispo. Para escapar de la embarazosa situación, Turpín arrojó el anillo al lago de Constanza. Carlomagno se enamoró del lago Constanza y no quiso alejarse nunca más de sus orillas.

Late in life the emperor Charlemagne fell in love with a German girl. The barons at his court were extremely worried when they saw that the sovereign, wholly taken up with his amorous passion and unmindful of his regal dignity, was neglecting the affairs of state. When the girl suddenly died, the courtiers were greatly relieved—but not for long, because Charlemagne’s love did not die with her. The emperor had the embalmed body carried to his bedchamber, where he refused to be parted from it. The Archbishop Turpin, alarmed by this macabre passion, suspected an enchantment and insisted on examining the corpse. Hidden under the girl’s dead tongue he found a ring with a precious stone set in it. As soon as the ring was in Turpin’s hands, Charlemagne fell passionately in love with the archbishop and hurriedly had the girl buried. In order to escape the embarrassing situation, Turpin flung the ring into Lake Constance. Charlemagne thereupon fell in love with the lake and would not leave its shores.
